Mid-Century Modern style includes iconic furniture pieces, like Hans J. Wegner's Y-Chair and Finn Juhl's Chieftain Chair, stemming from Danish design. Lars Dybdahl's book is the first to examine the 1945-1975 period of Danish design and architecture, with an emphasis on analysis and situating furniture within a historical and cultural context. With illustrations showcasing post-war Denmark to the 70s, the book presents an overview of this style's aesthetic evolution.
Lars Dybdahl is Head of Library and Research at Design Museum Denmark. He is the author of various books on Danish design, such as the recently published 101 Danish Design Icons.
